Some bibliographic databases do not export records in a format that matches any of the import filters available in EndNote. In these cases, an existing filter may be modified, or a new one created, to import records.
In this example, we will create a new custom filter for importing Popline records. Follow the same basic steps to create filters for other databases. You can save these filters for future use.

There are several methods of importing references into EndNote. This handout includes examples of importing references directly from a bibliographic database into EntNote, importing references saved from a bibliographic database in an EndNote-compatible format, importing references from a text file, and manually entering references. The examples here use EndNote 9.
