Instructions on how to set your vacation message.

Setting a vacation message or auto-response

PopNet Procedure:

There is now an option available in the PopNet WebMail Access to set a vacation message.

  • Log into PopNet Webmail
  • Once you have logged into webmail click on Options
  • Scroll down to the very bottom of the Options page and click on Vacation Message
  • Check the box next to "Send auto-reply to sender?" then type your preferred subject and message
  • When finished click submit

Removing Your Vacation Message:

Follow the same instructions as above, but just uncheck the "Send auto-reply to sender?" and clear the subject and message fields.
clicking submit will save your changes and remove your vacation message.

Alternate Method:

Log into any Linux or Solaris host.

  • Once you have logged in type: setenv EDITOR pico
    If you are more comfortable with VI, VIM, or Elvis then simply replace pico with your preferred file editor.
  • Then type: vacation
  • The vacation program will start and guide you through the rest of the process.

Disabling the vacation message:

  • Using any Solaris or Linux host: Simply re-run the vacation command
